'lo.

had a good cny/valentines? well its been 18 years i spent my valentines being single, and believe anot im not feeling the slightest bit miserable. mind you, with so much love coming from family and friends, you are taking too much for granted to want a special someone to go through valentines. not that im saying having a boyfriend isn't good, its just really unneccessary for me for this period of time. (:

moving on. my cny is undeniably, the best so far! what made it so special, you might ask?

lets break it down to one, two, three, and maybe more.

  1. A FUSS FREE, STRESSLESS, LESS IRRITATING ENVIRONMENT. you may think i get really irritated with kids, wait til you see the whole bunch of them. this year, apart from a rude little one who keeps hogging the remote control, and another spoilt brat, i have literally absolutely nothing to worry about.
  2. PLANTED THE GOSPEL IN THE FAMILY. growing up in a family of idolatry, i've always wondered how to let my relatives know about Jesus. lucky me for my aunt installed the Good TV channel which broadcasts shows or recordings about diverse religions, it just so happened one night we stumbled across a recording of a Christian conference. a few got interested and even though we did not finish the entire video, i guess and hope God left an impression on them that night. lets pray for the best shall we? (:
  3. GAVE ME A HEALTHY DOSE OF REALITY. i don't think i'll be complaining about not having enough air-cons, or pretty furnishings or state-of-the-art gadgets for a very, very, long time. my hometown is in tanjung sepat, if you've been there before you'll know what i mean. in a nut shell, i won't be complaining since it has been such a humbling experience!
  4. SIGNIFICANT CHANGES. i praise  God for answering our prayers! my grampa was so jovial, unlike last time when he shut himself in the room, refusing to speak to anyone. he's gone through such a major improvement, i missed him when i left. AND ONE MORE THING: MY COUSIN WHO'S HITTING 15 FINALLY HIT PUBERTY! its been taking alot of time getting used to his bass-like voice, and the whopping height he sprouted into. we are very proud of him: he's gonna be the tallest in our family.

i may not get a wad full of money in my angpaos, but i had a chockful of love, bonding and a noticable amount of junk food left in my legs and hips!

as we were in the car on the way home, Jamie queried: " I wonder what have we left behind back there."

I answered: " I do. My blessings and prayers."

so i'm hoping for the best in my family. i'm willing to bet that my cny's are gonna get better every year!

and that, is going to be the best and biggest angpao I've ever recieved.
